Choosing the Right MBA Program
The wealth of postgraduate business courses available can sometimes appear daunting, and for graduates considering a business career, making the right choice from a widening list of options is one of the most important career choices they will make.
The ‘BSc-work-MBA-work’ versus the ‘BSc-MSc-work’ career trajectory is one of the first choices to think about, but what about those wanting to take their education even further? The postgraduate courses at the upper echelon of education are the PhD, the relatively new EMBA (Executive MBA) and the even more recent innovation the DBA (Doctor of Business Administration).

Armed with an MBA from the University of Chicago, Krull first started out buying mutual funds and large, widely known stocks. His returns were mediocre. Krull realized he was buying past winners long after their big runs.

As if his 6-foot-8 frame would not make Jake Byrne stand out enough on campus, that Wall Street Journal in his hand separates him from other students as well.
Little could the first-time observer know that while others his age are college seniors, Byrne is a graduate student after earning his degree three years out of high school.
When his first fall semester at Eastern Illinois began, Byrne was a sophomore thanks to college courses he took at Elsberry (Mo.) High School.
Rather than use that head start as an excuse to coast a bit through the academic rigors while also playing NCAA Division I basketball, Byrne last school year finished the nine finance classes needed to get his degree rather than space things out and comfortably finish during his senior season of basketball.

Feb. 20 (Bloomberg) -- Mortgage applications in the U.S. dropped by the most in more than four years as the highest mortgage rates in two months weakened demand for home buying and refinancing.
The Mortgage Bankers Association's index of applications to buy a home or refinance a loan fell 23 percent to 822.8 from 1063.5 a week earlier. The group's refinancing gauge plunged 28 percent, the most in more than three years, and the purchase index declined 12 percent.
